Raising Waves on

Starting with a Bontempi B3 air-powered organ at an age before school, I have been playing and making music in one form or another for as long as I can remember. A little later in life I took piano lessons, giving me a core understanding of musical theory, melody and performance. With a little help from the wonderful world of computer technology, I discovered a way to get my musical creativity down in a way I can share with the world.

Fast forward to today, and I am writing and producing original music for all forms of media projects. From promotional videos to computer games, and everything in between, Raising Waves is here to create the ideal soundtrack to your creative works.

My fields of experience range from retro video game tunes (Those of you who owned a Game Boy or similar will remember this sound!), to epic orchestral themes for modern film, animated features and video game releases.

I am also very much into the electronic music scene, creating original tunes for the club dance floor, and remixing various genres to add my electronic flair. If you are a musician or a band writing original music, have you ever thought of having one of your tunes remixed? It's a great way to add to your catalogue of music, and gets you exposure from a new group of fans you may not have thought possible.

Blending the world of orchestral score and the beats of the electronic music world is one of my specialities, opening up a whole range of projects I can bring to life with music.

Showdown

Written for a two minute animated film involving battling robots, this piece blends epic orchestral themes with club-esque electronic music worthy of a good dance-off. This animation is still in production, I will make an update on this project when the film is released.

Showdown (credits sequence)

The credits also need their music, so Showdown's credits theme took its melody from the main score to create a slower, more laid back version.

Galapagos Islands

An orchestral piece written for a BBC-run competition in 2006. The task was to write a 3 minute long theme to the introduction of their Galapagos Islands documentary.

Hal's Theme (Orchestral Remake)

A character theme, originally written as chiptune, rearranged on a simple synth orchestra.

Underground Zone

Inspired by a rather fast blue spiky hedgehog!

Calm Seas (Gulf of Mexico Mix)

An example of trance, taken from an old Raising Waves release; "Progressive Scan".

BT - The Emergency (Senn Remix)

Add a remix to your portfolio, attract new fans!

Nothing Changes (Senn Remix)

Even songs that were originally laid-back lounge can be reworked for the dance floor.

Only Just Begun (Instrumental Extended)

A piece intended for acoustic instruments, mocked up with synths and samples.

Experienced TV Theme

30 seconds is the average length for TV or radio ad themes. This was used on Experienced TV, a video game review show broadcast on digital satellite.

Before the Race

An ambient piece in the style of Chicane.

Vignette for Piano and Strings

Of course, there's a lot of variety one can fit into 30 seconds. Give us a shout if you're interested in having your own!

Hal's Theme (Original Chiptune Version)

And for the curious, the original chiptune for Hal's Theme, written in the style of Japanese role-playing-game battle themes and using the old chiptune 'rule' of 3 melodic channels plus one noise channel.
